Bolnisi Maltese Cross

The central etching on the face of this stately variant of the cross pattée (popular in late antiquity and early medieval period) is closely representing a 5th-century ornament at the Bolnisi Sioni Church.  This design gave rise to many cross variants used during the Crusades, and the Maltese cross of the Knights Hospitaller.
