Large Goddess Athena Locket
Large oxidized sterling silver locket encasing a bronze coin of Goddess Athena in relief. Large rigid bale and ornate granulation all around. The locket opens for a keepsake and has elaborate carvings on the back.
Inspired by a gold stater of Alexander the Great (circa 323 BC), the coin replica features Athena with the Corinthian helmet and a griffin on the front. On the reverse side (inside the locket) is an image of Nike holding a wreath and a stylus along with a caduceus under her right wing. The word ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ ("of Alexander") is inscribed on the side.
The silver chain shown in the accompanying image is a hand made 25" herringbone chain (priced at $850 and sold separately).
The video shows how to open the locket from the side.
